Our approach
We follow a clear and structured three-step approach, ensuring transparency on the applicable procedure and the notification process.
Step 1 — Regulatory pre-analysis & positioning
We analyse the product composition, claims and positioning to determine whether the product can be marketed in Belgium as:
-
a conventional food,
-
a fortified food, or
-
a food supplement.
Based on this analysis, we advise on the applicable procedure, required documentation and potential regulatory risks.
Step 2 — Dossier preparation & submission
We prepare the complete notification dossier and submit it to the Belgian Federal Public Service for Health via the Foodsup platform.
-
For food supplements, an FOD invoice is issued and paid by the client.
-
For fortified foods, no FOD invoice is required.
The client always receives confirmation that the dossier is under review.
Step 3 — Follow-up, report & NUT number
We follow up the dossier until a positive assessment by the authorities and the allocation of a NUT number.
If additional information, modifications or a resubmission are required, we continue to support the process.
